Nafplion is a pretty seaside town with elegant streets dominated by the lofty Palamidi fortress overlooking the sea and countryside for miles around.  Beyond that, there’s not a lot to say.  We took a €30 round trip taxi ride up to the fortress which included 20 minutes waiting time – which proved to be not enough.  In hindsight we should have negotiated a one-way fare and walked down.

Still, it was a very pleasant day and we enjoyed a nice lunch on the waterfront, Thea having found another plate of mussels!
