South America - Day 10

Friday – Beagle Channel & Ushuaia

7 am in Beagle channel, cruising slowly beside snow- and ice-capped mountains illuminated by the low morning sun against a blue sky with light scattered clouds.  (After that introduction I’d better take some decent photos!)

Alaska has Glacier Bay – here and now we have Glacier Alley.

This morning is just a time to enjoy the ever-changing views before we arrive in Ushuaia at 2 pm.

What a day – sunshine and a temperature well into the high teens or even the twenties.

Ushuai was a pleasant surprise – a very nice small town in a bay surrounded by mountains.  We wandered, visited the museum, located in the prison which was the original reason for Ushuaia being created, and drank some local beer while using the free Wi-Fi.

All in all a very good day.
